Top10Traders.com is a stock market game that gives you $100,000 in virtual funds to play the stock market risk free. Returns are calculated on the first of the month for each account. Top10Traders.com was created so that people could see what the best traders were buying and selling, and use that knowledge to improve their own portfolio returns. The site uses quotes that are delayed by 15 to 20 minutes. Currently there are 8,532 accounts on Top 10 Traders. Top 10 Traders began life in 2008. The website design is very basic but it makes it easier to use because there is no clutter.
Account Setup:
Account registration requires alias, email and password. After you confirm your account through the supplied email, you are ready to trade. Your $100,000 portfolio is automatically created and no further steps are needed.
Buying and Selling:
Trades are placed within your portfolio which is found in the “My Stuff” menu item. You are able to go long and sell short with simple market prices only. There are no limit or stop orders available. Trades made will not go through for 15 minutes because quotes are delayed 15 minutes which makes it fair for people who don’t have access to real time quotes. Full trade history is available so that you are able to analyze all of your trades.
Community:
Top 10 Traders does have a community aspect to it which is enabled through user’s posts. Traders post stock and market predictions, investing guides and strategies they find to be working. The top 10% of all traders for the month are also displayed on the home page with viewable portfolios. You are able to see the top player’s current positions, every trade they made to get where they are and their individual posts. It’s safe to say that Top 10 Traders has full transparency between traders which is great for learners wanting to analyze others strategies.
